Term Limit on Judges

  1. John Andrews tried unsuccessfully to pass a Colorado Amendment imposing term limits on judges in 2006. Never one to be deterred, he has reworked the legislation and hopes to introduce a new Amendment along similar lines.

John Andrews recognizes a critical problem plaguing our judicial system today. There are no checks and balances in force. As a result, we have judges across the country who are abusing their powers, bullying people around to get their way, disregarding the sacred document called the Constitution and legislating from the bench.

I have not made up my mind yet on whether term limits is the answer to this problem. There are some good and decent judges who would also be affected by such legislation. But something needs to be done. What about you? What do you think? Take our poll and let us know!
